Its the ultimate question, asked many times by Genesis fans all over the globe, and for many proves unanswerable, but what are your top 3 Genesis albums?

Here goes:

1.Selling England By The Pound - A stunning and quintessentially English piece of scintilating prog rock genius. As soon as Peter's acapello starts on "Dancing With The Moonlit Knight" you know this is going to be something special. Coincides with my favourite Tony moments in Firth of Fifth!!!

2. The Lamb - An album which has the brilliant quality that every time I hear it I find something new to appreciate about it. Shows how far Genesis were ahead of their time, that when concept albums like this came out they were originally derided, however I defy any Genesis fan or music fan in general, to now say this is not a great album. Its a stunning double album tour-de-force in what made Genesis so uniquely incredible.

3. Duke - Controversial choice to some maybe. But I just think this is wher the band best straddles the pop/prog dividing line they were about to cross. Fans of the triumvirate of Collins Banks and Rutherford could wax lyriacl over "Turn It On Again" and "Misunderstanding" etc, while fans of Gabriels era could sit back and enjoy the rich instrumental passges on tracks such as "Dukes Travels".

Mine change all the time... but as of today...

1. Abacab- When I first heard this album, I hadn't heard anything quite like it.

2. A Trick of the Tail- Kind of wistful, fun, energetic.

3. Calling All Stations- Heavier, moody, more like 'old' Genesis.

I have to agree that "Duke" has improved with age. It is a strong album, probably my favourite post Hackett.

Duke's Travels/End is one of my favourite Genesis tracks.
